Depending on how you use the app, My Society Khata may store or process information such as:
If you choose to pick an owner from your phone contacts, the app may request permission to read contacts. This is used only to help you select a contact and populate owner details such as name and phone number.
Contact information is not uploaded to our servers by the app. You may also enter or edit owner details manually.
My Society Khata can connect to your Google account to create and restore backups in Google Drive. Google authentication is handled by Google. The app does not ask for or store your Google password.
Backup files may contain society financial and owner information. Backups are encrypted before upload. Access to those files is controlled by the Google account you choose.
Most app data is stored locally on your Android device so that the app can work even when you are offline. Local backups may also be created on the device when you choose to do so.
The app may prepare messages, reminders, reports, CSV files, PDF files or backup files for sharing through WhatsApp, email or other apps installed on your device.
When you share information, that information is sent through the app or service you select. Their privacy policies and terms apply to that sharing.
My Society Khata may use Android biometric authentication or your device PIN/password to help protect access to the app. Biometric data is handled by Android and your device. The app does not receive or store your fingerprint or biometric template.
Internet access may be used for features such as Google Drive backup/restore, checking for app updates, opening help pages, and sharing through external services. Core accounting features are designed to work offline.
We do not sell your personal information or society financial data.
Data is only shared when you choose to use features such as Google Drive backup, WhatsApp, email, report sharing or other external services.
Data remains on your device until you edit, delete, restore, reset or uninstall the app, subject to Android behavior. Google Drive backups remain in your Google Drive according to the backup retention behavior configured in the app.
My Society Khata is designed to keep the latest backups for a limited period, currently up to the latest 7 backups, where applicable.
The app supports restoring an existing backup when setting up a new device. This is intended to support handover of society accounting responsibility from one authorized treasurer or administrator to another.
Users should only restore backups they are authorized to access.
We use reasonable safeguards within the app, including local device security support and encrypted backups. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
My Society Khata is intended for society treasurers, committee members, and other authorized adults. It is not designed specifically for children.
